Manor Lords: Castle Layout Strategies

When the castle layout is initially planned, the computer automatically divides the number of plots. Click on the minus sign on the right side to reduce the number of plots until one plot shows two houses – one large and one small, with a maximum of two.

After construction is complete, this type of plot will have an additional expansion function next to the upgrade, allowing for an increase in the number of households with the same resources.

According to the game description, both food and fuel are supplied based on the number of plots. Whether it’s a single-household or dual-household plot, each plot provides one unit of food and fuel per month. The upgrade materials for plots with different numbers of households remain the same, but income is calculated based on the number of households.

Therefore, except for single-household artisan plots that do not require mass production, all other plots should be planned as dual-household plots. This means that with the same amount of planned area, there may be slightly more building materials, but there will be much less upgrade materials and food/fuel supply. An increase in the number of households translates to an increase in labor force and income.

Additionally, plots dedicated to growing carrots can be planned larger, while ensuring that other plots have a small workshop when planning the minimum necessary size.
