Manor Lords: How to Plant

Agricultural-related buildings are currently limited to fields and farmhouses. Below is an introduction on how to use these two buildings.

Manor Lords: How to Plant

Farmhouse
Without fields, villagers will not engage in farming. You need to set the number of farmers for planting in the farmhouse.

In the advanced menu, you can set the work area, prioritize wheat threshing, and view the number of farmers living far away.

Field
When constructing a field, you can freely choose the area but pay attention to soil fertility to avoid planting in areas with low fertility.

After building a field, you can select the crop type and planting settings in the interface that appears. For example, you can set fallowing every 3years or crop rotation with different crops.

The priority of the field can be adjusted using up and down arrows to determine its importance among all fields. The higher the level, the higher the priority for care.

Forced harvesting can interrupt the progress of the current cycle and forcibly harvest the crops in the area, regardless of maturity. Carelessness in usage can lead to a significant decrease in yield.

Crop Processing
The three crops produced in the fields currently require processing before they can be used by residents.

Wheat
After threshing at the farmhouse, wheat becomes grain. It can then be processed into flour using a windmill and further expanded to a bakery in the common furnace or the backyard of the fort.

Unlocking the bakery in the fort’s backyard requires 2 tech points, so it is better to use the common furnace directly.

Barley
Barley needs to be processed into malt at the malt house before it can be further processed in the brewery expansion of the fort’s backyard to produce beer for consumption in taverns or for export.

Flax
Flax needs to be processed into linen at the weaving workshop and then can be further processed into clothing at the tailor shop in the fort’s backyard expansion.
